“Dream Log, chapter 1. The Disintegrating Hand.”
Welcome, one and all, to the first edition of the new Dream Log series on The Aspie Geek. Be warned, these can be freaky and/or mind-boggling; sometimes these don’t make sense! Here we go.
This dream happened the night of February 2nd between midnight and 4:30am. It all started in a Mexican villa with an unknown family my mom and I were staying with. It was quite large with lots of rooms and amenities. Suddenly, the skin on my right hand starts to shed off in large patches, revealing not the dermis or muscle but… a spongy material that keeps my phalanges in place. Don’t ask. After a short period of time, the skin is regenerated but is totally detached – kind of like a thin skin glove. This glove would always fall off, causing intense pain and discomfort. I thought of putting on the gloves and wetting my hand to get the skin to adhere but to no avail.
Soon, the skin would again regenerate but correctly this time but there was one thing that was off: a brown, mole-like mark on the base of my middle finger that indicated a form of skin cancer. Soon, I would develop holes in my fingers as my hand would disintegrate but I felt no pain. My mom rushed me to the hospital but all they could do was inspect and refer me to a surgeon. I would awaken at this time two hours before I had to wake up.
Upon waking up, I went to check my hand to see if it was real. Luckily, it wasn’t. Totally intact and functioning. Thank God. After inspecting, I went back to sleep for the next 2 hours till my alarm goes off. Don’t think I dreamt during that time.
Thank you for taking interest in the first of many dream logs found on this blog. Geek, out!
